IDOL HOLDS HIGH NOTE

This Tuesday's installment of Fox's American Idol nearly matched the contest's record-setting Jan. 17 season premiere, drawing 34.96 million viewers — an audience more than double that of the closest competitor, CBS' NCIS. Also of note from the night: ABC's Commander in Chief sank to a new series low of 10.38 million viewers, and CBS' Love Monkey made semibeautiful music with 7.58 mil, an 11 percent dip from its debut the previous week.
