Sony Pictures is bringing back I Know What You Did Last SummerDeadline reports.

Oculus co-writer and director Mike Flanagan and his partner Jeff Howard have been enlisted to reboot the Jennifer Love Hewitt horror franchise. Neal Moritz, who produced the first film in 1997, will also return.

Based on Lois Duncan's 1973 novel, I Know What You Did Last Summerfollows a group of friends being stalked by a killer one year after they covered up a car accident. The film, which also starred Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr., grossed $125 million worldwide and spawned two sequels, 1998's I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and the straight-to-DVD I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer.
