Wide-eyed New York lawyer Josh Segal (Nicholas D'Agosto) is getting ready to take on his second big case in Trial & Error: Lady Killer. Josh's new client is Lavinia Peck-Foster (Kristin Chenoweth), a quirky heiress who is the beloved first lady of the town -- that is, until her husband's dead body was found in the trunk of her car! Josh and his team (Sherri Shepherd and Steven Boyer) must build a solid, and often hilarious, defense against the evidence being offered by Assistant D.A. Carol Anne Keane (Jayma Mays) that Lavinia is behind the crime. Further complicating matters is the arrival of Nina Rudolph (Amanda Payton), a crime podcaster who arrives in East Peck this summer to follow the new trial.

As you'll remember, the first season of Trial & Error centered around the trial of Larry Henderson, a poetry professor played by the incredible John Lithgow. He was accused of murdering his wife, Margaret (Andie MacDowell), and had a knack for making himself look guilty. With Henderson's trial over, Lithgow won't be returning to the show this year. But the equally incredible Chenoweth more than makes up for his absence.

NBC is debuting Trial & Error: Lady Killer on Thursday, July 19th, at 9/8c, with two half-hour episodes of the satire airing back-to-back. If you can't catch those live, you can stream them later through NBC.com, Hulu or fuboTV.
