Murder club is back!

It looks like we're going back to basics in this How to Get Away with MurderSeason 5 trailer -- with a side helping of nuptials!

The gang is back in law school, and after her huge Supreme Court win, Annalise (Viola Davis) is back in the classroom. We guess it's hard for the school that kicked you out on your butt to stay mad once you've won a revolutionary judicial reform class action suit on the national stage. Her new class isn't "How to Get Away with Murder," though; it's "Advanced Trial Skills," and it's got one very noticeable new student.

Putting aside our questions about why a first-year law student is in the same class as a bunch of third years, we can't help but notice that Gabriel Maddox (Rome Flynn) doesn't seem too starstruck by his new professor Annalise. Does that mean he doesn't have a sordid history of murder and corruption reaching back decades into a secret past with her? How new and refreshing!

What's next for Flaurel on How to Get Away with Murder?

Gabriel's impassioned speech about murder in the trailer may actually indicate that he's totally on the up and up... or that he's way more experienced with getting his hands dirty than we might have expected. "Once a person commits murder, something inside them is rotten," certainly sounds like something someone who might be acquainted with that kind of life would say.

The trailer also hints we'll see Connor (Jack Falahee) and Oliver's (Conrad Ricamora) wedding (finally!), which looks like a festive event -- and one that's long overdue. Their big day can't be all happy though, since Annalise's carefree dancing gets interrupted by Frank (Charlie Weber), who looks about as a happy as someone on death row. Whatever he's got to tell her, it earns him a slap so it's probably safe to say this season is going to be just as crazy as ever!

How to Get Away with Murder premieres Thursday, Sept. 27 at 10/9c on ABC.
