Highway Patrol: Charge Brandy with Manslaughter

The California Highway Patrol recommended on Monday that actress-singer Brandy be charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, for her involvement in an accident that killed a woman motorist, the Associated Press reports. Currently awaiting review by the city attorney's office, the charge carries a maximum sentence of one year in jail and a $1,000 fine. On Dec. 30, 2006, on Interstate 405, Brandy's Land Rover struck a Honda, which then hit another car, slid into the center divider and was hit by a fourth car. The driver of the Honda died later of blunt-force injuries.
