So what did she mean by that tweet?
Grey's Anatomy fans found themselves in a tizzy Thursday, thanks to a tweet from star Sara Ramirez that some interpreted to mean she's leaving the show.
With production wrapping on Season 12, Ramirez posted this message:
That's a wrap for Doctor #CallieTorres #Season13 #GreysAnatomy #ThankYou all for an enriching & unforgettable #Rollercoaster ride! ❤️💃🏽😷🌈🎢💜
It's understandable that some Grey's fans, still reeling from the shocking, sudden departure of Patrick Dempsey last season, would immediately go into panic mode. And yes, it's true that Callie's current storyline has her planning to run off to New York with Penny (Samantha Sloyan), and Ramirez's contract for next season is still being negotiated. ABC had no comment on the tweet, and an email to Ramirez's personal rep wasn't immediately returned. But our take on the tweet is that it's Ramirez innocently announcing that she's wrapped for the current season. As far as the #Season13 hashtag ... maybe that was a typo, or maybe it's a "see you next season" message. And between divorcing Arizona and finding new love with Penny, it's true that Callie truly has had a "#Rollercoaster ride" this season.
In fact, Ramirez posted a similar tweet two years ago, almost to the day, as production was wrapping on Season 10.
Dear @shondarhimes & all who make #GreysAnatomy @GreysABC ,it's been a a roller coaster ride & an honor! Thanku all! #SeasonX #SeasonZen
We're betting that Callie will be firmly back at Grey Sloan in Season 13. After all, we have her word:
