Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) may have survived a major heart attack on Grey's Anatomy but that doesn't mean her health problems are fully behind her. Though eager to jump back into her chaotic routine, the beloved Chief of Surgery will come to realize that's easier said than done when her body isn't quite where her mind is, and that could cost her more than she's willing to pay.
"Her body may fail her otherwise but you know [Bailey] thinks that she can juggle many balls at the same time," Chandra Wilson tells TV Guide. "I find it interesting as we go forward to have her limitation kind of hit her in the face."
The big question is, how hard will she be hit with reality? We all know Bailey to be fiercely stubborn and that immovable resolve is what ended up saving her life in the first place. However, it looks like this health scare might be just the thing that slows her down, exposing a side of her that we haven't really seen before.
"I think from this point on, after having a heart-related experience, you're always a little uber cautious. You're paying attention a little bit more because you may [have not] in the past and I'm anxious to incorporate that into Miranda's behavior," added Wilson.
It will be interesting to see how this new, cautious approach will come into play for Bailey, especially since her husband Ben (Jason George) has decided to run into burning buildings for a living.
Grey's Anatomy continues Thursdays at 8/7c on ABC.
