Between hackers hijacking their computers, patients being emitted with some of the rarest conditions known to medicine and personal drama making their lives exponentially worse, there's no doubt that the doctors of Grey's Anatomy have the hardest jobs on television.

While some turn to alcohol to relieve the stress, Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) has found a more active way to expel that negative energy. In this exclusive sneak peek at Thursday's episode, the head of neurosurgery explains to Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Alex (Justin Chambers) that her stress-relief process actually involves her ex-husband Owen (Kevin McKidd).

"We all need something to take the edge off. You get [alcohol]. I get sex with my ex. Ex sex. Excellent excellent ex-sex," she tells them.

Grey's Anatomy's Sarah Drew Already Has a High-Profile New Job

While Meredith and Alex seem dubious of the situation, ultimately, they know they don't have any right to judge Amelia for how she chooses to decompress. (Although, Meredith would prefer Amelia to de-stress a bit further away from her sleeping children.)

The Ellen Pompeo-directed episode, titled "Old Scars, Future Hearts," will see Meredith try to learn more about Marie Cerone's history with her mother. Meanwhile, Alex gets thrown a major curveball after learning that Jo (Camilla Luddington) has been applying for fellowships throughout the country. Plus, Tom Koracick (Greg Germann) might finally be the one to get through to April (Sarah Drew) about her crisis of faith.

Watch the drama unfold when Grey's Anatomy airs Thursday at 8/7c on ABC.
