Was she or wasn't she?
Fear not, Sarah Michelle Gellar. Sandy Olsson is not dead.
"I'd like to address the internet right now: She was alive. She was very, very alive," Grease: Live director Thomas Kail said backstage at Sunday's Emmy Awards after winning Outstanding Director of a Variety Special for the Fox live musical. "She was Julianne Hough."
He added: "I love the internet."

Gellar sent the World Wide Web into a tizzy two weeks ago, when she resurrected a long-standing conspiracy theory on Facebook: that the Grease heroine was in the coma during the film and dies at the end.
"Wait this has blown my mind- has anyone heard this theory about the movie #Grease," she wrote. "At the end of the movie, Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson fly off in a red convertible as they wave goodbye to their friends on the solid ground below, leading to the conclusion that the flying car was the final result of Sandy's fantasy. (As in she is dead)."

Jim Jacobs, who co-wrote the musical on which the film is based, has already debunked the rumor to TMZ, telling the site that Sandy was alive the whole time and whoever came up with the theory was on acid.
OK, SMG. Sandy's aliiivee.
