Bane and Harley Quinn Make Their Grand Entrance in Gotham's Final Season Trailer

It's everything a Batman fan could wish for

Megan Vick

Gotham may be ending this season, but the cast and crew are going balls to the wall with every Easter egg and treat a Batman fan could want. Fox released the final trailer for Season 5 on Friday, and it is full of "Oh my god, what?!" moments from beginning to end.

The list is exhaustive, but the over-four-minute clip teases these big things: Jeremiah (Cameron Monaghan) getting as close as possible to the Joker without actually calling himself the Joker; Selina (Camren Bicondova) getting shot and emerging fully as Catwoman, complete with claws and cat eyes; Babs (Erin Richards) -- looking like Furiosa from Mad Max: Fury Road -- and Lee (Morena Baccarin) potentially teaming up; Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) back in each other's faces; Penguin's dog being named Edward (they still love each other, guys!); Hugo Strange (BD Wong) bringing people back from the dead again; Harley freakin' Quinn (Francesca Root-Dodson) in her rollerskating glory; oh, and some dude named Bane (Shane West)?

Just kidding, Bane is a major part of the trailer and everyone should be here for it. We get a small taste of West as Eduardo Dorrance and his playful banter with Jim (Ben McKenzie). We also see the first footage of him in action -- and it looks like Hugo has a lot to do with Eduardo's transformation into Batman's strongest foe. Even better news, it appears that West is going for a much deeper interpretation of Bane's ominous mask voice than what Tom Hardy was doing in The Dark Knight Rises.

Speaking of the Dark Knight, we still have not seen Bruce (David Mazouz) fully suited up as his eventual alter ego, but it's clear that it is what this final season will build to. It's been dubbed "The Legend of the Dark Knight," so the pointy ears are coming.

Gotham is putting in everything and the kitchen sink in this action-packed final season, so get ready. Season 5 premieres Thursday, Jan. 3 at 8/7c on Fox.
