Arkham Asylum is up and running again, and it's the darkest it's ever been in Gotham's history. That's thanks to a new head of security, Hugo Strange (BD Wong).

The fallout from Galavan's (James Frain) murder will give Oswald Cobblepot, aka Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), firsthand experience in Arkham's new "intense procedures" for rehabilitation. The gruesome measures are enough to make Penguin, who is pretty used to torture, terrified of his new residence.

Gotham: Check out BD Wong as Hugo Strange

As terrible as Penguin thinks Arkham has become, the midseason premiere will reveal that it's only a warm-up for the horrifying experiments Strange is conducting below ground at Indian Hill. It's safe to say that both Arkham and Indian Hill are places that even Gotham's most nefarious villains should be afraid of now.

Gotham returns Monday, Feb. 29 at 8/7c on Fox.
