It's officially awards season: The Hollywood Foreign Press Association revealed their nominees for the 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Thursday morning, honoring the best in film and television over the last year.

Terry Crews, Danai Gurira, Leslie Mann and Christian Slater delivered the exciting news for the actors and creative talents live from Los Angeles. The 2019 Golden Globes ceremony takes place Sunday, Jan. 6 in Beverly Hills.

On the TV side, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story led all shows with four total nominations, including nods for stars Darren Criss and Penelope Cruz. Following behind with three nominations were a plethora of shows, including The Americans'last season, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Barry, Homecoming, The Kominsky Method, Sharp Objects and A Very English Scandal. But despite a list of nominees that spread the wealth between new favorites and old standbys, many big names were also snubbed by the Globes, including Atlanta, This Is Us, Westworld, Better Call Saul and more.

The film nominations, meanwhile, showcased how close this year's Oscars race will be, with Adam McKay's Vice leading all features with six nods -- including citations for stars Christian Bale (who plays former Vice President Dick Cheney in the comedy), Amy Adams, and Sam Rockwell. Bradley Cooper's A Star Is Born, Peter Farrelly's Green Book and the Yorgos Lanthimos comedy The Favourite followed close behind with five nominations each.
