GLOW's Season 3 Trailer Unleashes Geena Davis in Vegas

Not all that glitters is gold in Sin City

To paraphrase Bill Hader's unforgettable Saturday Night Live character Stefon, the official trailer for GLOW's third season has everything: heartbreak, comedy, spandex, big hair, sequins, a potential romantic pairing nobody asked for, Geena Davis in bold animal prints, and, of course, some good old-fashioned wrasslin'.

Season 2 ended with the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling excited about headlining their own show at the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. However, they're about to realize that working in Sin City isn't all it's cracked up to be. Despite their show selling out in the first few weeks, the ladies face an onslaught of personal woes that threaten to hinder the professional success they've worked so hard to achieve.

The preview, which dropped Monday, teases trouble ahead for Debbie (Betty Gilpin), who grows increasingly homesick for her son. Meanwhile, it looks like Ruth (Alison Brie), who's still feeling lost despite being in a stable relationship, might take a one-way trip to Bad Decision Island by hooking up with Sam (Marc Maron). Their odd friendship anchored the first two seasons of the show, but do we really need to see these two grinding hips in a cheap hotel because they're not feeling so good on the inside? Survey says: Nah, bro.

In a more exciting development, we have our first look at Geena Davis in action as Sandy Devereaux St. Clair, a former showgirl who now works as entertainment director of the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino and will oversee the show. Judging by that big hair, those already iconic dresses, and that infectiously positive attitude, she's a shoe-in for this season's fan favorite.

Watch the drama and action unfold in the above trailer.

Season 3 of GLOWdrops Friday, Aug. 9 on Netflix.
