Glee's Sue Sylvester: A Timeline of Tyranny

When Gleereturns, Cheerios coach Sue Sylvester may reach her diabolical peak. In Tuesday's new episode (8/7c on Fox), she'll form A League of Doom. The members? Will's ex-wife Terri, former McKinley High glee club director Sandy Ryerson and Vocal Adrenaline coach Dustin Goolsby. Together, can they topple New Directions? The truth is Sue — who is so hardcore evil she grinds beef bones into her smoothies, advocates caning and littering and is missing a uterus — has been doing a bang-up job on her own for the past two years.

But don't take our word for it. In honor of her unyielding quest to destroy Will Schuester and the glee club, here's every rotten thing she's done to them in chronological order:

10 Glee spoilers: Sue's League of Doom and Mercedes' man

Sue schools Will on how high school works. As the glee club's new director, Will asks Sue if she wouldn't mind encouraging some of her cheerleaders to join. Her response: "See, now what you're doing here is called blurring the lines. High school is a caste system and kids fall into certain slots. You have your jocks and your popular kids up in the penthouse, your invisibles and kids playing online trolls and creatures, bottom floor." And the glee kids? "Sub-basement." (Episode 1, "Pilot")

Sue says no to "Push It!" When the glee club attempts to recruit new blood by performing a risky version of "Push It," Sue's the first to complain to Principal Figgins. "That was the most offensive thing I've seen in 20 years of teaching -- and that includes an elementary school production of Hair... My first thought was that your students should be put into foster care." (Episode 2, "Showmance")

Sue deploys spies. When Figgins refuses to squash the club, Sue sends Quinn, Santana and Brittany to join New Directions so they can keep updated on the club. (Episode 2, "Showmance")

Sue unleashes Dakota Stanley. Under coach's orders, Quinn and Santana convince Rachel that New Directions need to steal away Vocal Adrenaline choreographer Dakota Stanley, a mean little man who pushes Vocal Adrenaline till they vomit. Literally. They also make Mercedes believe that Kurt is into her — when in fact, he's gay. When Sue's plan fails, she blames the girls: "This is what we call a total disaster ladies. I'm going to have to ask you to smell your armpits. That's the smell of failure, and it's stinking up my office. I'm revoking your tanning privileges for the rest of the semester." (Episode 3, "Acafellas")

Sue brings back Sandy Ryerson. Sue recruits the former glee club director and possible student molester to mess with Will by blackmailing Figgins into appointing Sandy as McKinley's new art director. Sandy lures Rachel away from glee club and into a starring role in his production of Cabaret. (Episode 4, "Preggers")

Sue vows to destroy Will and becomes co-director of the glee club. Sue's hatred of glee club manifests in her first journal entry of the series: "Glee Club. Every time I try to destroy that clutch of scab-eating mouth-breathers, it only comes back stronger, like some sexually ambiguous horror movie villain. Here I am, about to turn 30, and I've sacrificed everything, only to be shanghaied by the bi-curious machinations of a cabal of doughy, misshapen teens. Am I missing something, Journal? Is it me? Of course it's not me. It's Will Schuester! What is it about him, Journal? Is it the arrogant smirk? Is it the store-bought home perm? It's coming clear to me now. If I can't destroy the club, I will have to destroy the man." When Will's wife Terri gives the kids pseudoephedrine tablets to enhance their performance, Sue calls out Will for allowing his kids to use drugs. Figgins makes Sue co-director of glee club. Sue splits up New Directions. Sue pits the New directions kids against each other by separating the stars from the minority kids -- "Santana! Wheels! Gay Kid! Asian! Other Asian! Aretha! And Shaft!" — whom she christens the elite glee club, Sue's Kids, and leads in a rousing rendition of Jill Scott's "Hate on Me." (Episode 7, "Throwdown")

Sue outs Quinn.  WhenQuinn takes part in the glee club's protest of Will and Sue's ongoing war, Sue takes her revenge by instructing school reporter Jacob to post a story about Quinn's hidden pregnancy. (Episode 7, "Throwdown")

Sue kicks Quinn out of Cheerios. After catching the local newsman Rod cheating, Sue takes her anger out on Quinn again, by throwing her off the squad. (To be fair, Quinn probably shouldn't be on top of the pyramid anyway!) (Episode 8, "Mash-Up").

Sue teams up with rival glee clubs. If you can't beat 'em, find someone who can! Sue leaks New Directions' set list for Sectionals to the underfunded Jane Addams Academy for girls and the Haverbrook School for the Deaf. (Episode 11, "Hairography")

Sue erases New Directions from the yearbook. Sue convinces Figgins that in the past, glee club photos have been heavily defaced in the library copy of the yearbook, so he agrees to pull the pictures to prevent the possibility of having them tarnished. (Episode 12, "Mattress")

Sue turns the club in for going pro. And by pro, we mean, the kids starred in a mattress ad and received a bunch of free mattresses in return. Sue points out this makes them professionals and violates the rules of the show choir competition. Will takes the fall, and is banned from attending Sectionals with the kids. Sue celebrates: "Dear Journal. I've finally gotten Will Schuester and that Glee Club out of my hair. This is a day that will live in infamy! Once again, I've won." (Episode 12, "Mattress")

Sue breaks up Finchel. After getting suspended and then blackmailing Figgins into rehiring her, Sue returns even more set on obliterating New Directions. She enlists Santana and Brittany to seduce Finn, thereby crushing Rachel and destroying the glee club. (Episode 14, "Hell-O")

Sue recruits Kurt and Mercedes to the Cheerios. Kurt and Mercedes, disgruntled that possible spy Jesse St. James is welcomed into New Directions, head into Sue's open arms and join the Cheerios. (Episode 15, "The Power of Madonna")

Sue deprives the glee club of rehearsal space. Suereserves the school auditorium for Cheerios practice, forcing Will to look elsewhere for rehearsal space. (Episode 16, "Home")

Sue makes the Glist public. After the glee club uploads a video of Sue performing Olivia Newton John's "Physical" online, she publicizes a list ranking the glee club members based on their sexual promiscuity. New Directions implodes and Figgins, in turn, orders Will to find the creator of the list or disband the club. (Episode 17, "Bad Reputation")

Sue places the Cheerios trophy in the choir room. When the Cheerios win Nationals, Sue demands either a kiss from Will or that her trophy be housed in choir room. "You know, for me trophies are like herpes. You can try to get rid of them but they just keep coming. Sue Sylvester has hourly flare-ups of burning itchy highly contagious talent." Will leans in for the smooch, but Sue instead chooses the trophy space for him. (Episode 21, "Funk")

Sue turns Sunshine against New Directions. Will foils Sue's plan to get Coach Beiste fired (and get football money rerouted to the Cheerios). "The two of you are making a very serious mistake today, the likes of which have not been seen since the Mexican Indians sold Manhattan to George Washington for an up-skirt photo of Betsy Ross." So, Sue returns the favor by helping Vocal Adrenaline's new director poach Will's promising new star. (Episode 1, "Audition")

Charice on Sunshine's (maybe) shady return to Glee

Sue pulls the fire alarm on the Britney Spears sex riot.  Sue causes a stampede when she pulls the fire alarm during the glee club's sexually-charged performance of Spears' "Toxic," and then tries to sue Will for the injuries sustained during the incident. "I'm gonna sue the pants off of you, Will. I'm going to take your house, your car, your extensive collection of vests I mean, seriously, you wear more vests than the cast of Blossom." (Episode 2, "Britney/Brittany")

Sue goes undercover. The local TV news station recruits Sue to do an undercover exposé of McKinley's productionof The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Sue happily obliges. To help stir the pot, she encourages Emma's boyfriend, Carl, to join the show to stick it to Will. (Episode 4, "The Rocky Horror Glee Show")

Sue fires Will! Sue becomes acting principal when Figgins mysteriously comes down with the flu and quickly fires Will, making substitute teacher Holly Holliday his permanent replacement. On the bright side, Sue is chock-full of suggestions for how Will can use his free time. "I suggest selling yourself on Craigslist under the heading of 'Men seeking Men with Butt Chins.'" (Episode 7, "The Substitute").

Sue steals Christmas. The holiday season turns Sue into McKinley's own personal Grinch when she vandalizes New Directions' Christmas decorations and steals their presents. As the Grinch, err... Sue says herself, "For me the real joy of Christmas was breaking the collective heart of the glee club." (Episode 10, "A Very Glee Christmas")

Sue makes the Cheerios choose between cheerleading and glee club. In order to get Quinn, Santana and Brittany to quit New Directions, Sue gets the cheerleading Regionals rescheduled to the same night as the glee club's big football halftime performance. The centerpiece of the Cheerios' flashy routine? Shooting Brittany out of a cannon. "You don't climb in that cannon and that routine will be all 'Boom, Boom' and no 'Pow.' And that, Brittany, is so two-thousand and late." (Episode 11, "The Sue Sylvester Shuffle")

Sue joins glee club?! After the Cheerios' disastrous loss at Regionals, Will attempts to cure Sue's depression by bringing her to glee club against her will. "Oh Will, Charles Manson would have been a fun addition to your pack of losers." She unsuccessfully tries to tear the club apart by creating tension between Rachel and Mercedes before she drops the bomb that she's the new vocal coach for Aural Intensity. (Episode 13, "Comeback")

Sue leaks info to The Warblers. Sue squeals to Kurt about the sexy performance New Directions has planned for Regionals. It is also finally explained just how Sue came to be coach of Aural Intensity, although she matter-of-factly tells Kurt "you can't prove" that she pushed the old director down a flight of stairs. (Episode 15, "Sexy")

Sue forges a letter from My Chemical Romance. After she suggested that New Directions perform My Chemical Romance's "Sing" during her brief tenure with the group, Sue forges a letter from the techno group forbidding the glee kids from using their song at Regionals. A dirty trick, but according to Sue herself, it's only the beginning: "Consider this the opening salvo of World War Sue." (Episode 16, "Original Song")
