Gilmore Girls: Alexis Bledel Promises "Closure" for Rory's Boyfriends

Nothing divides the Gilmore Girls fandom quite like Rory's (Alexis Bledel) love life. But Bledel promises everyone will be happy with how the upcoming Netflix revival handles the returns of Dean (Jared Padalecki), Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) and Logan (Matt Czuchry).

"I think there is satisfying closure for any fans of any of the three couples that tend to get some attention," Bledel told Us Weekly. "But they're very different interactions. I would say each one of them [gets] closure in a different way."

Premiering Nov. 25, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life consists of four 90-minute episodes, each focused on one of the four seasons, and will pick up in real time, eight years after viewers last visited Stars Hollow.

Although a first look photo led many to speculate that Rory had taken up teaching, Bledel says the Yale alum is still following her passion for journalism. "She has been working hard, as she does," the actress said. "She started her work as a journalist at the same time that newspapers were going away. Her field changed dramatically as she was just kind of getting up and running. So that's where we pick up with her."

But while Rory loves chasing down stories, the jet-setting lifestyle of a reporter means she spends more time "crashing on couches" than "planting roots anywhere." However, the death of her grandfather Richard (the late Edward Herrmann) will bring Rory back to Stars Hollow, where her mother Lorelai (Lauren Graham) has settled into a bit of a rut.

As Graham explained: "I would say not much has changed [for Lorelai], which is kind of where we start our story because she's maybe had a case of slight arrested development, and something about losing her dad is going to propel her forward. But in most ways, in all the ways I loved the character, it's the same."

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life premieres on Netflix on Friday, Nov. 25.
