Paramount Television has tapped Fringeduo Jeff Pinkner and Akiva Goldsman to co-write a pilot for a TV adaptation of Ghost, the studio announced Tuesday.

The 1990 film, which starred Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg and Tony Goldwyn, grossed more than $500 million worldwide and went on to win two Academy Awards.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Akiva and Jeff, two deeply creative and accomplished talents, on the television adaptation of this classic supernatural drama," Paramount Television's President, Amy Powell, said in a statement.

In addition to working on Fox's Fringe together, Goldsman's big-screen credits include I Am Legendand A Beautiful Mind. Pinkner recently co-wrote The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and 3, and also worked on Alias.
