Hulu has bumped the brakes on the live-action Ghost Rider series that was announced earlier this year.

Gabriel Luna, who portrayed the character in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.for ABC, will not suit up as the anti-hero Robbie Reyes. Deadline first reported the news, and said the project isn't moving forward because of creative differences.

Disney Plus: Everything to Know About the Streaming Service

It may be premature to read the news as an intention on the part of Disney, which owns Hulu, to double down on Disney+ Marvel series, which are made by Marvel Studios and not Marvel TV, at the expense of properties elsewhere. Hulu will still move forward with the previously announced Marvel's Helstrom as part of the Marvel TV offerings that'll include shows based on Howard the the Duck, M.O.D.O.K, Hit-Monkey, and Tigra and Dazzler as well as shows already on air like Marvel's Runaways, which will premiere its third season on December 13.

The Ghost Rider announcement does come after Legion wrapped up its run at FX this summer and Marvel's Cloak and Dagger still hangs in limbo at Freeform.
