George Lopez to Play Matchmaker on Fox's Take Me Out

Fox's new reality dating show Take Me Out has found its perfect match: George Lopez is set to host, the network announced.

The show, which premieres Thursday, June 7 at 8/7c, features 30 single women who are all hoping to find their soul mate. Lopez will facilitate the matchmaking process between the single women and eligible bachelors.

"I am thrilled to be hosting such an entertaining new series," Lopez said in a statement. "Anything can happen on a show like Take Me Out, and I'm looking forward to the excitement."Each week, the women will stand on lit podiums while meeting a variety of men. If the ladies are impressed with the gentleman at hand, they'll keep their light on. If they find nothing intriguing about the potential suitor, she'll turn the light off.The concept for the show is based on a successful international format. Lopez most recently hosted his own TBS talk show Lopez Tonight, which was canceled by the network in August.
