Yes, he seems evil again

The highly anticipated launch of gen:LOCK just upped its profile even more by adding Doctor Who favorite David Tennant to the voice cast.

The 3D-animated series is produced by Rooster Teeth and follows Earth's last free society on the "losing side of a global war." The society recruits a team of young pilots to fly their giant, weaponized robots known called mechas. Flying these next generation robots comes "at no small cost" for the new recruits.

Tennant -- who made quite a villainous name for himself in Marvel's Jessica Jones -- will voice Dr. Rufus Weller, a scientist at the Experimental Science Unit and the inventor of the gen:LOCK technology. He's probably very aware of the cost and therefore not the best friend the new pilots are hoping for when they take on their new job.

Tennant joins an all-star cast of actors including Michael B. Jordan and Dakota Fanning as the lead pilots. Rooster Teeth announced the series last year.

gen:LOCK will premiere in January 2019 exclusively on Rooster Teeth, available for iOS, Android, Xbox One, Apple TV, and at RoosterTeeth.com with memberships starting at $4.99 a month.
