Gatorade has dropped Tiger Woods as a spokesman, according to The New York Times.
The sports drink company made the announcement Friday, one week after Woods offered a public apology for extramarital affairs and said he was uncertain when he would return to golfing."We no longer see a role for Tiger in our marketing efforts and have ended our relationship," Gatorade said in a statement. "However, our partnership with the Tiger Woods Foundation will continue. We wish him all the best."Gatorade had previously begun plans to discontinue production of its Tiger Focus drink in October, before Woods' car accident on Nov. 27 that led to the revelation of extramarital affairs. Woods, who remains in rehab, was previously dropped by sponsors Accenture and AT &T. Nike has maintained its relationship with Woods.
