Game of Thrones: Who Will Defeat the White Walkers?

It's more complicated than you think

While all the noble houses are busy fighting each other, Game of Thrones fans know the real villain is still north of the Wall. And with the White Walker army fast-approaching Westeros, humanity needs to find its savior STAT. But who will it be?

Melisandre (Carice van Houten) is now convinced that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is the legendary Azor Ahai, a hero with a magic sword who's able to kill the White Walkers. Jon already has a sword that stands up against the Night's King, so him playing a role in the White Walkers' defeat is a pretty solid bet. Can one man really take down an entire army of the undead on his own though?

Hell no.

But here's an idea: what if all the prophecies about the legendary hero who saves humanity aren't about the same person? It's possible Azor Ahai, the Prince Who Was Promised and the Last Hero are actually three separate people who are each crucial to the Night's King's demise.

We break down the three most like candidates and how they might help defeat the White Walkers in the video above. Who do you think will be the key?

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9/8c on HBO.
