How many people watched?
If you missed the Season 5 premiere of Game of Thrones, then you missed seeing a dwarf vomit, several bare butts, and a big character death. You also missed being part of another record-setting audience for the HBO drama, as Sunday's episode was the most-watched installment of the series to date.
Game of Thrones by the book: Will Brienne and Pod meet Sansa?
Nearly 8 million viewers tuned in for the return of the wild world of Westeros, Variety reports. That's a healthy 1.16 million-viewer jump from the Season 4 premiere, and nearly 800,000 more viewers than that previously most-watched episode of Game of Thrones, Season 4's "Mockingbird." Since its debut in 2011, Game of Thrones has set a new viewership record with each season premiere.
The record comes despite the very public online leak of the first four episodes of Game of Thrones Season 5 in advance of their scheduled airdates.
