After decimating King's Landing in a fit of madness following the ringing of the the bells to signal surrender, Daenerys officially conquered Westeros. Now the Iron Throne is hers for the taking. The series finale trailer shows the Unsullied and Dothraki standing victorious over the still smoking ashes of the city as she walks confidently through the ruins.

Game of Thrones' penultimate episode was a bloodbath, killing Varys (Conleth Hill), Cersei (Lena Headey), Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), the Hound (Rory McCann), the Mountain (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson), and Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk) in the Battle of King's Landing, which was less of a battle and more of a relentless slaughter. Now, Jon (Kit Harington) will have to face the tough decision of whether to remain loyal to Dany, who's clearly gone off the deep end, or band together with Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) to take his rightful place on the Iron Throne to spare the country from Dany's reign of terror.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Complete Coverage

Of course, that is if there's even an Iron Throne left to sit on. Dany's annihilation of the Red Keep was thorough enough that she may have even destroyed the one thing she's been after this whole time.

Game of Thrones' series finale airs Sunday, May 19 at 9/8c on HBO.
