Jon Snow's Balls Got Smashed While Riding that Dragon on Game of Thrones

Cue the eunuch jokes!

It may have been an epic scene that Game of Thrones fans spent years anticipating, but, as it turns out, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) riding a dragon was not a super pleasant experience behind the scenes of the HBO series.

In order to make a scene as impressive as that, a lot of visual effects had to be employed, and the actors were basically sitting on an electronic "buck" that worked a lot like a mechanical bull. Only these bucks were supposed to keep you firmly seated on them rather than throwing you off -- at least in theory. According to Kit Harington, the logistics of being a dragon rider didn't leave too much room for, um, necessary bits and bobbles if you get our drift.

"There was a bit where Jon almost falls off the dragon -- swings round really violent like this -- and my right ball got trapped, and I didn't have time to say stop," Harington said in a behind-the-scenes video. "I was being swung round. In my head, I thought, 'This is how it ends, on this buck swinging me round by my testicles. Literally.'"

This BTS look also dives into all those emotional reunions, fight scenes, and of course the make-out scene between Jon and Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), complete with fake gagging once the director yelled cut. It's definitely a must-watch for Game of Thrones nuts.

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9/8c on HBO.
