Watchers on the wall had plenty to see on Tuesday, as HBO debuted a full trailer for the final season of Game of Thrones.

Our first in-depth look at Season 8 gave fans lots of what we crave: dragons, dragons, and more dragons, including an awed Sansa (Sophie Turner) watching Dany's (Emilia Clarke) two surviving dragons soaring above Winterfell. Meanwhile, her sister Arya (Maisie Williams) appears to be going all out on her revenge mission, running injured through the halls one moment and preparing to cut off someone's face the next.

But what this trailer is really all about is our heroes' (and villains') preparation for the final battle against the Night King. While Gendry (Joe Dempsie) toils away making weapons and Jon (Kit Harington) seems glued to his Queen/aunt/lover's side, Cersei (Lena Headey) is serving up the kind of devious looks that make us worry how she'll interfere in the upcoming war. At least her brother Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) remains steadfast in his decision to abandon his former love, declaring his promise "to fight for the living" in this new footage.

Previously, HBO revealed a glimpse at the eighth season in footage released ahead of the Academy Awards. Before that, the network whetted fans' appetites with a teaser for the final season that included original footage shot for the promo and not scenes from the last batch of episodes.

Everything We Know About Game Of Thrones' Final Season

The trailer comes despite the fact that creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss told Entertainment Weekly they were not fans of teasers. "[David Lynch] was saying he wished there were no trailers," Benioff said. "And it's true, you could just go into a movie and see something completely fresh."

Added Weiss, "I wish there were no trailers. I just want somebody to say, 'Trust me, go see this.'"

Game of Thrones' final season debuts April 14 on HBO. There are six episodes in Season 8 and it has been speculated that each could run well over 60 minutes.
