Game of Thrones Creators Apologize for That Whole Hodor Thing

On Tuesday's Jimmy Kimmel Live, Game of Thrones creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff apologized to fans for Hodor's (Kristian Nairn) death.

It's an unprecedented move from the notoriously unsentimental showrunners. But before you think Weiss and Benioff are getting soft, know that they're not apologizing for upsetting everyone with Hodor's tragic story -- They're apologizing for all the ding-dongs who are going to yell "HODOR" whenever they want someone to hold an elevator door. It's already old, guys. This is funny, but now that we got that out of our systems, let's move on.

And really, it's for our own good to not make "hold the door!" jokes, because the Davids will show no mercy if we do.
