These Game of Thrones Cast Testimonials Are Full of Gush (and Potential Clues?)

The stars of Game of Thrones look back to the beginning before the end

HBO just dropped the mother(of dragons)load of looking-back featurettes with the main stars of Game of Thrones, and in addition to making our hearts swell with nostalgia -- look at all those baby Stark actors! -- the videos also contain a few key clues to help make us even more eager and impatient for Sunday's premiere of the eighth and final season.

For example, what exactly is Iain Glen trying to tell us here when he says that, if given the chance to speak to his character Jorah Mormont, he would advise him, "Don't expect any favors from that girl" about Daenerys? How cryptic.

Isaac Hempstead Wright also talks about how Bran Stark is one of the few characters whose fate is completely predestined and can't be altered no matter what. (We also have to appreciate his point about the irony of Hodor becoming Bran's biggest helper, despite the fact that he essentially ruined his entire life with his amateur warging work, but that's just a fun observation.)

Game of Thrones Season 8: Everything We Know So Far

Maisie Williams also described saying goodbye to Arya as being in "mourning" of the character. What an interesting choice of words there. That could be another instance of Williams' intentional misdirection or she could be dropping a very real hint about Arya Stark's future here, then, couldn't she?

Peter Dinklage, meanwhile, called the new season "insanely complicated" and "cinematic," while applauding the new abbreviated episode count and extended runtime for each installment.

A few other highlights from the new video series include:

Kit Harington gushing about how now-wife Rose Leslie was his favorite actor to work with on the show because of her "instinctual" talents and their "great chemistry" that obviously transcended their scenes together;

Sophie Turner admitting that she had a hard time being stern with Arya on-screen during the Stark family reunion scene in Season 7 because of how much she and Williams like to cut up in real life;

Emilia Clarke praising Glen for being her "buddy" and mentor throughout the whole show, even after she fell off a horse in front of everyone on day one;

Liam Cunningham waxing poetic about just how weird the shadow baby scene with the Red Witch was for him and her and everyone else at home, too;

John Bradley lamenting the fact that he can't live with Samwell Tarly for a "couple more years";

Rory McCann revealing that he has taken home a snapping metal hound helmet, and, yes, he uses it to intimidate random motorcyclists because why not;

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau calling his Season 1 self a "little puppy" who had to learn to walk and run on the show;

And, last but not least, Lena Headey's pick for the prop she most wants to take home from the show that no one would ever ever be able to guess not matter how big a Game of Thrones fan they were.

Peak anticipation achievement: unlocked.

Game of Thrones Season 8 premieres on Sunday, April 14 at 9/8c on HBO.
