FX's The Strain Grabs Southland's Regina King

Southland vet Regina King has landed a recurring role on FX's new vampire drama The Strain, Deadline reports.

From Guillermo del Toro and Lost's Carlton Cuse, the high-concept thriller follows the head of the Centers for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City (Corey Stoll) when he and his team must investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism.

King will play Ruby Wain, the smart and accomplished manager of philandering rock star Gabriel Bolivar (Jack Kesy).

King is also known for her roles on 227and 24. She has most recently guest-starred on The Big Bang Theory.
