FX buys Charlie Sheen's new sitcom Anger Management
Anger Management
, based loosely on the Jack Nicholson-Adam Sandler film of the same name, stars Sheen as "Charlie" (go figure!), a former baseball player and therapist that specializes in — you guessed it — anger management. Selma Blair will play Charlie's therapist and Shawnee Smith will play his ex-wife.

Russell Brand lands late-night series on FX

Brand's Strangely Uplifting is set to air in six half-hour installments. It will be shot in front of a live audience, who will interact with the host. The network describes the series as "Brand's unvarnished, unfiltered take on current events, politics and pop culture."FX's Thursday night lineup will also include the returns of Wilfred at 10/9c — the season 2 premiere will feature Robin Williams as a guest star — and the third season of Louie at 10:30/9:30c.
