FX's Legion trailer, unveiled at Comic-Con Saturday (July 23), reveals a series that could be the most heady and existential in the entire X-Men canon.
The series follows David Haller (Dan Stevens), a super-powered mutant who's been diagnosed as schizophrenic, and in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. After an encounter with another patient, he awakens to the possibility that the voices and visions in his head might be real.
FX's first foray into Marvel superhero territory — and the first of three in development X-Men spin-offs being worked on by Marvel — has a secret weapon: Fargo creator Noah Hawley, who is showrunning this new take on Marvel's mutant mythos. The show is set to debut in early 2017.
