Look Out, Camp Counselors: A Friday the 13th Series Is in the Works

Don't have sex! Don't do drugs! And for crying out loud, don't fumble with your car keys while running away from a crazy murderer!

A television series based on the Friday the 13^th horror film franchise is in development from Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films and Crystal Lake Entertainment, according to Deadline. Sean S. Cunningham, who directed the original 1980 horror film, is among the potential series' executive producers. No network is attached to the project.

The most loathed TV characters

The hourlong horror-drama would bring hockey mask-wearing slasher Jason Vorhees back into pop culture after terrorizing audiences in a dozen films spread over 29 years and inspiring decades of simple Halloween costumes. Bill Basso (The Terminator) and Jordu Schell (Avatar) are writing the script, which will be set across multiple time periods but focus on Jason's former killing grounds, Camp Crystal Lake, and the residents who deal with Jason's return in present day.
