Fox has picked up two single-camera comedy pilots, including one from Rescue Me creator Peter Tolan, Deadline reports.

Based on the non-fiction book by Bruce Feiler, Tolan's The Council of Dads focuses on a man who learns he's dying and enlists five men in his life to help his wife raise their two children. While Feiler made a full recovery in real life, in Tolan's version, the dad is expected to die and the show will chronicle how the kids are raised with the help of the Council.

Tolan will executive-produce alongside Michael Wimer, with Feiler serving as a consultant.

The network also picked upFamily Albumfrom Joe Port and Joe Wiseman. The project will follow a headstrong patriarch who embarks on a vacation with his extended family to spend quality time together. Each season would take place during one summer vacation.
