Chris Daughtry will play Judas in Fox's upcoming live production of The Passion, and Telenovela star Jencarlos Canela has been cast as Jesus. They join previously announced cast members Trisha Yearwood, who's playing Jesus' mother Mary, and Prince Royce, who will play the disciple Peter, as well as Tyler Perry, who will serve as host and narrator.
Fox's two-hour production of The Passion, which chronicles the final hours of Jesus' life through music, will be broadcast live on Palm Sunday. Set in modern day, it will be staged at various iconic locations throughout New Orleans, and feature a procession of hundreds of people carrying an illuminated cross from the Superdome to the banks of the Mississippi River.

Canela is a singer/songwriter who currently stars on NBC's Telenovela. Daughtry is a bestselling artist and Grammy nominee who placed fourth on Season 5 of American Idol.
