Sorry, y'all!

After years of talk about a possible Friday Night Lights movie to pick up where the acclaimed TV drama left off, executive producer Peter Berg says it's not going to happen.

"There's not gonna be a movie," Berg told Collider.com. "We talked about it, some people thought it was a good idea, some didn't; I've come to believe it's probably not a good idea and I seriously doubt it's gonna happen."

Cult shows that deserve a movie

During an appearance on Watch What Happens: Liveearlier this year, star Connie Britton expressed her interest in reprising her role as Mrs. Coach on the big screen, but also admitted there were some cast members who were against the idea, particularly her TV husband Kyle Chandler.

"There's been a lot of talk about a lot of things. Some people are really excited about it and some people aren't," Britton said. She explained that Chandler was cautious because it's already been done before, "and he has a point," she said. Friday Night Lights the TV series was based off the 2004 movie of the same name, which Berg directed.

Are you sad that there won't be an FNL movie?
