Who are all these kids?

Fear the Walking Dead returns for Season 5 on Sunday, June 2, and to help fans get in a gunslinging sort of mood, AMC has released some first look photos from the new batch of episodes. The photos include looks at returning characters like Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), Strand (Colman Domingo), Al (Maggie Grace), John Dorie (Garret Dillahunt), and Morgan (Lennie James), among others, as well as new characters. As we saw in the trailer, there's a gang of kids getting in the mix this season, and these photos introduce a few of them, and they look like they've been at Bonnaroo for a week.

There's Annie, a dreadlocked urchin played by Bailey Gavulic. In pre-apocalyptic times, she'd be too young to drive, but all rules have been thrown out. Murder's no longer a crime but a necessity, you know?

There's also Cooper Dodson as Dylan and Ethan Suess as Max. The Walking Dead likes to keep its child actor gigs in the family -- three Lintz siblings (Madison, Macsen, and Matt) have appeared on The Walking Dead -- and Fear is keeping that tradition alive. Cooper Dodson is the brother of Major Dodson, who appeared on The Walking Dead's sixth season.

There's also a walker impaled on a tree. Now, we don't know if this is any particular walker, but during a panel at the AMC Networks Summit last week, executive producer Ian Goldberg said the plane the main group has in the trailer will show how far they're willing to go to help people, "but the plane's also gonna draw people to it -- some of them will be living, some will be walkers. And there will be one walker in particular... let's just say this walker will open a universe of possibilities for our storytelling." So we need to scrutinize walker images closer than usual for clues about what he could mean by that. Is this prodigal walker going to set up some kind of crossover? The walker in this photo doesn't look like anyone we've met before to me, but what do you think?
