Season 2 of Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead's stealthily superior spin-off, comes out on DVD and Blu-ray next Tuesday, Dec. 13, and TVGuide.com has your first look at a deleted scene included on the release.

In this clip from "Sicut Cervus," Episode 6 of Season 2, Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) finds a quiet moment with her mother Madison (Kim Dickens) amidst all the chaos.

"Sicut Cervus" is the episode in which the Clark/Manawa family arrives at Celia's (Marlene Forté) compound in Mexico, which Strand (Colman Domingo) promises will be a safe place (and allow him to reunite with his boyfriend Thomas [Dougray Scott]). When they get there, they are required to turn over their weapons, and Strand learns that Thomas has been bitten by an infected and is dying. Strand tells Thomas he will kill himself to join him in the next life as the ultimate act of love.

Meanwhile, Madison and Alicia are worried about Chris (Lorenzo Henrie), who seems to be cracking up in a dangerous, violent way. When they were attacked by an infected earlier, Chris didn't save Madison when he had a chance, which Alicia witnessed. When Alicia confronted him about this, he threatened to hurt her if she told anyone what she saw. So Madison and Alicia sleep together in Alicia's room for safety and comfort.

This quiet, intimate deleted scene shows moments between the two pairs. Strand kisses Thomas goodnight, and Madison regroups with her daughter, who had recently been rescued after getting caught by pirates she accidentally summoned. The dangerous rescue involved Madison trading a zombified pirate hostage -- whom Chris had killed in cold blood, another cause for concern -- in exchange for Travis (Cliff Curtis), and Alicia escaping with her family in the chaos when the walker attacked the pirates.

"I thought I lost you," Madison says.

"I'm sorry," says Alicia.

"I'm not looking for an apology," says Madison.

Of course, their peace is violently interrupted in their next scene when they're awoken by a gunshot (Strand shooting Thomas in the head after he dies so he doesn't turn) to find Chris standing over them with a knife. But it was nice while it lasted.

Fear the Walking Dead Season 2 is out on DVD and Blu-ray Tuesday, Dec. 13.
