FX has unveiled a new preview of Fargo's second season, returning next week with more comedy, more tragedy - and a little bit less snow.

A prequel of sorts to the first season, Fargo's second season is set in 1979 in Sioux Falls, S.D., as a young Lou Solverson (Patrick Wilson) finds himself investigating a case involving a local crime family, a mob syndicate and a beautician (Kirsten Dunst) and her husband (Jesse Plemmons).

"You can't just repeat yourself," creator Noah Hawley teases of the new season, "you've got to reinvent the whole thing."

Take a look at what's coming up on Fargo:

Fargo premieres Monday, Oct. 12 at 10/9c on FX.
