Tell us what you think of You, Rel and Kidding in our annual Popularity Contest!
Did YOU win YOU over? Was seeing Sinbad on Rel... Sin-good? Did Kidding seriously stink?
YOU is the latest show from super-producer Greg Berlanti and writer Sera Gamble. It stars Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley and Pretty Little Liars' Shay Mitchell in a decidedly more grown-up story in which Badgley plays a bookstore manager who becomes obsessed with a customer, played by Once Upon a Time's Elizabeth Lail. It's kinda demented. Did it turn YOU on or off?
Over on Fox, Rel is a sitcom from Get Out breakout star Lil Rel Howery. Howery plays a newly-single father on the South Side of Chicago trying to rebuild his life after a messy divorce in this semi-autobiographical story. But the real story is that it's '90s star Sinbad's first series regular role since his eponymous show 25 years ago. The former A Different World star plays Rel's dad. Is this enough to say "Sinbad's back?"
And Kidding has another quarter-century TV return in Jim Carrey. He plays Mr. Pickles, a pure-hearted Mr. Rogers-esque children's TV host who's dealing with some very heavy stuff in his personal life. It's another great addition to the thriving genre of sad comedy. Did you laugh or cry?
