How will Seth Meyers ensure this year's ESPY Awards is bigger and better than last year's? "I hate to say this, but performance enhancing drugs," the Saturday Night Live star deadpans.

Taking the stage for the second straight year (airing live Wednesday, 9pm/ET, ESPN), Meyers is looking forward to honoring the world's best athletes — not to mention using them along the way in pre-taped gags and live sketches. His vote for funniest sports star: "Peyton Manning. It's no surprise he's in so many commercials. But Charles Barkley might be more fun to talk to, he's absolutely more outrageous." Meyers also hints that the usual targets for jokes such as LeBron James and Tiger Woods are definitely fair game.

Meyers has been on a hot streak in terms of hosting gigs, having received rave reviews at this year's White House Correspondents' dinner where he memorably bashed then-presidential candidate Donald Trump and teased President Obama. "Obama is more intimidating, even though the athletes can physically hurt me," laughs Meyers. "Politicians are a little harder as a comedy audience because they take themselves seriously. Athletes off the filed are a more fun loving bunch."
