Emmy season is upon us! For the next two weeks, voters will be checking off names and shows they think are worthy of getting a nomination come July 18. We at TVGuide.com have a few selections in mind ourselves. Next up: our dream ballot for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Laura Dern, Enlightened
For Dern to go un-nominated during Enlightened's too-brief two-season run would be adding insult to injury. In Amy Jellicoe, Dern, who won a Golden Globe last year, crafted a finely tuned flawed, noble woman whose journey of self-discovery emboldens her to be an agent of change. Emmy voters have been kind before to short-lived HBO comedies (see: Lisa Kudrow, The Comeback), so let's hope they're, uh, enlightened after last year's snub.
Lena Dunham, Girls
Girls' sophomore season was polarizing, to say the least. But Dunham, who earned four Emmy nominations last year, carries the show and added depth and fragility to narcissistic Hannah — even while that season finale ending had many of us screaming in anger.
Tina Fey, 30 Rock
Fey consistently brought the funny until the very end of 30 Rock's run, hitting every emotional note superbly as Liz got her imperfectly perfect happy ending in a Princess Leia wedding gown and a mini Tracy and Jenna as children. See? Liz Lemon can have it all! So why can't Fey have one last shout-out?

Sutton Foster, Bunheads
Foster's Michelle seemed like a Lorelai Gilmore imitation at first with her breathless delivery of Amy Sherman-Palladino's rapid-fire lines, but the two-time Tony winner soon stole out hearts with her hypnotic, charming ballerina. ABC Family, which has yet to cancel or renew Bunheads, did not submit the show for series consideration, so Foster will be its sole flagbearer.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Veep
A 13-time nominee, three-time winner and the defending champ, Louis-Dreyfus is a lock for a nod, and don't be surprised at all if she retains her crown. In less capable hands, Selina Meyer would be a grating grade-A bitch, but JLD has made the cutting, neurotic, spastic No. 2 an engaging, sympathetic figure in her powerlessness.
Amy Poehler, Parks and Recreation
We don't doubt that Poehler will find herself back on the shortlist, but what is it going to take for her to finally win something? Poehler has bafflingly never won a major award for her divinely daffy Leslie Knope, and it'd just be cruel to see her be a bridesmaid yet again in a year that saw Leslie tie the knot.
