Hunter Montgomery, the son of country duo Montgomery Gentry's Eddie Montgomery, died Sunday after being removed from life support following an accident. He was 19.

"My son Hunter went to heaven today," Eddie Montgomery wrote in a statement on Montgomery Gentry's website. "I appreciate all your prayers and love and thank you for giving us privacy as we grieve and say goodbye."

Details about the accident Hunter suffered have not been made public. In August 2014, he got engaged to his girlfriend by proposing to her at one of his father's concerts, according to People.

Hunter is the youngest of Eddie Montgomery's four children.
