Ready for more supernatural hijinks, Shadowhunters fans?

Dominic Sherwood, who played the brooding Jace Herondale in Freeform's hit fantasy series, has booked his first post-Shadowhunters gig, and he's staying very on brand. Deadline reports he's one of six new actors cast in the Penny Dreadful "sequel" series, which centers on Det. Tiago Vega (Daniel Zovatto) as he investigates a grisly murder in 1938 Los Angeles. Naturally, supernatural shenanigans ensue. Sherwood will play a chauffeur and bodyguard named Kurt, "who also possesses an unexpected depth and surprising background," according to the character description. Adam Rodriguez, Jessica Garza, Michael Gladis, Lorenza Izzo, Thomas Kretschmann, and Ethan Peck are also joining the cast.

This spin-off, set in 1938 Los Angeles, will be called Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, and it will air on Showtime. Other cast members include Natalie Dormer, Nathan Lane, and Rory Kinnear, who also starred in the original Penny Dreadful.

Production on Penny Dreadful: City of Angels is set to begin later this year.

(Disclosure: TV Guide is owned by CBS Interactive, a division of CBS Corporation.)
