This isn't your regular Disney princess. Star vs. The Forces of Evil, which debuts as a special preview next month on the Disney Channel, stars Eden Sher (The Middle's Sue Heck) as the voice of Star Butterfly, teen royalty with attitude.

The animated adventure kicks off with the episode "Star Comes to Earth/Party With a Pony," which will air Sunday, Jan. 18 at 9/8c, behind the fourth season premiere of Austin & Ally(8/7c) and the debut of Zendaya's new live-action family comedy K.C. Undercover (8:30/7:30c). The show's regular run will premiere later in 2015 on Disney XD.

In the preview, Star receives a royal magic wand for her 14th birthday. But after she tussles with monsters, Star's parents decide she's not ready for the responsibility and send her to Earth, which they deem safe. On Earth, Star lives with the Diaz family and embarks on new adventures with their teenage son, Marco (Adam McArthur) and her magic wand. Alan Tudyk, Nia Vardalos, Jenny Slate, Artt Butler, Nate Torrence and Dee Dee Rescher also provide voices. Daron Nefcy, a 2009 CalArts graduate, created and executive produces the show.

Here's a first look at Star vs. The Forces of Evil's main title theme, performed by Brad Breeck, and its end credit theme, performed by Sher.
