Fresh off the success of last week's Zapped, Disney Channel has set an airdate for its next original movie, How to Build a Better Boy. The comedy adventure, starring China Anne McClain (A.N.T. Farm) and Kelli Berglund (Lab Rats) will premiere Friday, Aug. 15 at 8/7c.

How to Build a Better Boy stars McClain and Berglund as Gabby and Mae, science whizzes but social outcasts who dream up Albert, a fake boyfriend for Mae. Then Albert comes to life as a robot soldier — and the girls discover that Mae's dad actually works for the military (which wants to get its hands on their creation).

Marshall Williams, Noah Centineo, Ashley Argota, Matt Shively and Roger Bart also star.

Songs include "Something Real," performed by McClain and Berglund, which will be released July 29 on iTunes. Disney Channel's website will also premiere a How to Build a Better Boy game on July 15.

The movie will launch early, on Monday, Aug. 11, on Disney Channel's WATCH Disney Channel app. The movie will also be available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Microsoft XBOX and Google Play starting Aug. 16.

Zapped, which premiered June 27, attracted 5.7 million viewers, making it the top cable telecast of the year among kids and tweens.
