Jeremy Darling already was a rather reckless lad, but with his twin sister MIA, that's one less check-and-balance for his bad-boy leanings. Seth Gabel gave us a look at the nastier and naughtier Dirty Sexy Money, airing Wednesday on ABC at 10 pm/ET. Plus: What's it like having "the coolest wife ever" in Bryce Dallas Howard? - Matt Mitovich

TVGuide.com: There's a lot happening in the DSM premiere.
Seth Gabel:
Yeah. There's a lot going on. They revamped everything, and the first episode is definitely the coalescence of all those ideas.

TVGuide.com: And it's done in such a way that it's easily accessible for a new viewer.
Gabel:
Definitely. A lot happened last season, but we weren't really building to an apex or any kind of climax. Now, everything starts over and gives everyone an opportunity to take a whole new ride with us.

TVGuide.com: Jeremy still has feelings for Nick's wife, obviously.
Gabel:
I've sort of been stalking her, so Lisa knows that I'm into her, and she's a bit put off by the whole situation. But she might have secret feelings of her own beneath of all of that.

TVGuide.com: Jeremy shares his feelings for Lisa with a new character....
Gabel:
I do end up revealing them to someone at a bar, Nola (played by Lucy Liu)....

TVGuide.com: What's the dynamic between the two of them?
Gabel:
Things get very... "interesting."

TVGuide.com: "Very interesting" meaning nearly immediate sex?
Gabel:
[ Laughs] Well, it is Dirty Sexy Money!

TVGuide.com: Is Jeremy feeling lonely without his twin sister around?
Gabel:
Jeremy is a lonely character, especially without his sister, someone he confided in and reflected with. With her out of the picture, he's left to his own devices and he goes back to using the drink to cope with problems.

TVGuide.com: And how is the show accounting for Juliet's absence? [Portrayer Samaire Armstrong sought treatment for personal issues last winter, and this season is not a series regular.]
Gabel:
She is off on an island, vacationing. She definitely has the opportunity to come back.

TVGuide.com: Do you think we might actually see Samaire this season?
Gabel:
Oh yeah. All of us, including the creators, want her to come back to the show and be Juliet in some capacity.

TVGuide.com: The premiere features the completely unexpected death of a Darling. As you read that script, did you see it coming?
Gabel:
No, not at all. We were all completely shocked. Also, the person is very good at acting, so we were very sad to see them go.

TVGuide.com: All told, is this season in fact "dirtier and sexier"?
Gabel:
The big point is it's going to be "-er." Put anything before the hyphen and the "er" and that's what we're adding to the show. All of us have had time to think about our characters and what we want to improve upon, so we have a real understanding of what works best. Everything is going to be more "-er."

TVGuide.com: So what sort of tweaks have you made to Jeremy?
Gabel:
Jeremy is growing up a little bit - he was very naive, and I think Juliet enabled that a bit. He's now forced to be more independent, and by making mistakes on his own he's experiencing life in his own way.

TVGuide.com: What can you tell me about Young Americans, the movie you did with Topher Grace, Michael Ian Black and Michelle Trachtenberg?
Gabel:
It was a lot of fun. I saw a screening a while ago and I can't wait for it to come out. It's a Dazed and Confused for the '80s. It was a time of the underdog, and this is a throwback to that. I play a remnant of the '70s, a hippie that never grew up, a sort of precursor of the Seattle/granola type. I give Topher's character some advice.

TVGuide.com: Lastly, what's the buzz from your wife (Bryce Dallas Howard) on Terminator: Salvation?
Gabel:
Oh, it's going to be fantastic. When she got that part I was just flipping out: "Oh my god, my wife's in Spider-Man 3, she's also in Terminator?! Coolest wife ever!"

TVGuide.com: There's been recent talk about Spider-Man 4 and 5. Would Gwen Stacy still be around?
Gabel:
Well, she wants Gwen Stacy around - it's up to Sony and the fans and everyone else!
