Much like Dexter's Season 3 close, the series' lead actors had a killer romance with a happy ending: Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter, who play the Morgan siblings on the Showtime series, eloped on New Year's Eve.

The two had been dating for a year and half, but only went public with their relationship this week, The Associated Press reports. Hall's publicist did not immediately return a call from TVGuide.com. The pair is expected to appear as a couple in public for the first time at Sunday's Golden Globes.

Hall, who plays the show's serial-killing, eponymous character, is nominated for best actor in a TV drama, while the show is up for best series, against the likes of House, Mad Men and more. Carpenter plays his sister, Deborah Morgan, Dex's fellow cop at Miami P.D. The show just completed its third season and will be back for at least two more.

The pair's wedding was Hall's second time down the aisle. In 2002, he married actress Amy Spanger, who went on to become his Chicagocostar on Broadway after they tied the knot. The two filed for divorce in 2006.
