Keck's Exclusives: Devious Maids' Rebecca Wisocky Teases What's Ahead

In Devious Maids' pilot episode, Evelyn Powell (Rebecca Wisocky) memorably fretted over her murdered maid's blood leaving a stain on her carpet. In Devious Maids' pilot episode, Evelyn Powell (Rebecca Wisocky) memorably fretted over her murdered maid's blood leaving a stain on her carpet. More recently, the eccentric Beverly Hills socialite threw a birthday party for her only son who had died many years earlier. Wisocky assures fans there are many more sinister antics ahead for her alter ego as Lifetime's just-renewed series nears its dramatic season finale.
In the Aug. 18 episode, "Evelyn's become attached to the Westmores' baby and wants to spend more time with him, which totally spins out of control," previews Wisocky. "And she discovers a major secret about Rosie that filters out and influences other peoples' lives in a dramatic way." Plus, Evelyn's husband, Adrian, returns from his plastic surgery "and things come to a head between the two of them. Evelyn demands something more from her home life. And by the end of the season, you will be reminded just what Evelyn Powell is capable of." Yikes!
Wisocky, who had recurring roles on 90210 and The Mentalist, first came to the attention of Devious Maids executive producer Marc Cherry when she guest starred on Desperate Housewives' final season in a flashback as Bree's icy mother. "I was teaching young Bree how to make a pie, and telling her to put on a fake smile so men will never know what she's thinking," she recalls. "I suppose there are some parallels to Evelyn. And I shot that Desperate Housewives episode less than a month before I tested for Devious Maids. It was kismet."
Devious Maids opened with one of Evelyn's lavish soirees interrupted by her maid's murder. And Maids' Sept. 22 season finale will see Evelyn throwing yet another swanky affair. "Adrian and Evelyn's home is the source of many events — both good and bad," Wisocky says. "The parties they have hosted over the years have had some very serious ramifications, and the season closes with yet another." (Having been on set for the finale shoot, I can tell you more blood will be shed as hors d'oeuvres are passed about!)
Good to know the actress enjoys a far more cordial relationship with the show's five maids offscreen. She just returned from Puerto Rico where she, Judy Reyes (Zoila) and Edy Ganem (Valentina) were invited by Roselyn Sanchez (Carmen) to help volunteer for Sanchez' pet project, an organization that helps raise funds for the island's many stray dogs. "I also hang out a lot with Ana Ortiz [Marisol] and Mariana Klaveno [Peri]," she says. "We really do like each other."
