The race to the 2020 American presidential election kicks off in earnest this week with the first round of Democratic primary debates, which will be split into two nights to accommodate a crowded field of candidates. Here's everything you need to know about when and how to watch the debates, who's moderating, and which candidates will share the stage.
The first Democratic primary debate will air Wednesday, June 26 at 9/8c.
The second debate will air Thursday, June 27 at 9/8c and will feature a separate group of candidates.
Each of this week's Democratic debates will be broadcast on NBC, MSNBC, and Telemundo.
The debates will stream on NBCNews.com, MSNBC.com, NBC News apps, and Telemundo, as well as NBC News' Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channel.
The candidates debating on June 26 are Cory Booker, Julián Castro, Bill de Blasio, John Delaney, Tulsi Gabbard, Jay Inslee, Amy Klobuchar, Beto O'Rourke, Tim Ryan, and Elizabeth Warren.
The candidates debating on June 27 are Michael Bennet, Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Kirsten Gillibrand, Kamala Harris, John Hickenlooper, Bernie Sanders, Eric Swalwell, Marianne Williamson, and Andrew Yang.
Steve Bullock, Mike Gravel, Wayne Messam, and Seth Moulton did not qualify for the first round of primary debates and will not be appearing on either night.
This round of debates will be moderated by Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, NBC Nightly News host Lester Holt, Meet the Press host Chuck Todd, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, and Noticias Telemundo host José Diaz-Balart.
Per NBC, candidates will be given 60 seconds to answer each question and 30 seconds to respond to follow-ups. There will be no opening statements, but candidates will be able to deliver closing remarks.
The first Democratic primary debates are being held at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami, Florida.
The second round of debates, hosted by CNN, will take place July 30 and 31 in Detroit.
