The Deadwood Movie Trailer Is Just as Effing Explicit as the Effing Series
Good news for people who have missed listening to Ian McShane swear
The long-awaited Deadwood movie finally has a full-length trailer. Thirteen years after the HBO series ended its three-season run, we're returning back to the town of Deadwood and while our characters might be a little bit older now, it appears they haven't changed one bit -- right down to their continued use of colorful, swear-ridden language.
On the show, only 10 years have passed, which brings up to the year of South Dakota's statehood. The relationship between Marshal Seth Bullock (Timothy Olyphant) and saloon owner Al Swearengen (Ian McShane) is uneasy as ever, and the movie also sees the return of Molly Parker's Alma Garret, John Hawkes' Sol Star, Gerald McRaney's George Hearst, and Kim Dickens' Joanie Stubbs. Deadwood creator David Milch wrote the script, with Daniel Minahan directing (Minahan also directed a few episodes of the series).
The trailer promises many showdowns, a death (if not multiple deaths), and the installation of some new electrical poles. The times are changing in Deadwood, and Swearengen might not be ready for it.
Deadwood: The Movie premieres May 31 on HBO.
