Good news! Netflix has announced that dramedy series Dead to Me will return for a second season, which means fans will get to find out what happened after that jaw-dropping cliffhanger in its freshman finale.

Dead to Me, which first debuted in early May, stars Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini as Jen and Judy, a pair of women who meet at a grief support group and, despite their very different personalities, become close friends very, very quickly. Since Jen has just lost her husband in a tragic car accident, and he was the more nurturing parent to their two boys, Judy's sunny disposition and warmth is a welcome addition to her life.

But Judy is hiding a very dark secret that direct affects Jen and her kids, and her presence unlocks some devastating secrets about Jen's own life. Still, audiences would be forgiven for rooting for the two to overcome these obstacles, because their friendship has helped both of them address their personal hangups.

Applegate responded to the news by tweeting a photo of herself with Cardellini, writing, "My girl. We got more time together. I love you."

In addition to Applegate and Cardellini, Dead to Me's creator Liz Feldman will return as showrunner and executive producer.

Dead to Me Season 1 is currently available to stream on Netflix.
